A manager has asked me to create a Fax template with a "Store Document"
button which will do the following:
1) Calculate the next fax number (ok, Doug Robbins's article covers that)
(i.e. 000345)
2) Ask for a Project Number (i.e. 004-033)
3) Save the fax under a folder which is relevant to the Project Number (i.e.
F:\Projects\2005\004\004-033\P004-033 Fax 000345.doc [Offer for Building
Infrastructure]), where "Offer for Building Infrastructure" is the Fax Subject
....and last but not least...
4) Update an Excel file with 3 fields, Serial Number / Project /
Description, with a relevant entry
I need your input on saving to a "calculated" directory, calling Excel from
within Word with parameters and handling input parameters in Excel. Is this
too much? I hope not!
