Taking totals based on Background colour

Hi,

Is it possible in Excel to take totals of a column based on the
background colour of a cell.

For eg. I have a table 20x10 rows and columns full of data. 6
different colours are used within the table for various cells based on
the nature of data.

I need to take a total of all cells highlighted in Red(for eg) within
a column. The highlighted cell say Red may be on different rows within
the 10 columns.
