Task Assignments

Hi

I am using project xp trying to get to grips with the e-
mailing options.

I have set my project file for e-mail collaboration. I am
running through the feature of Task assignments.

I selected my task
assigned my resource
collaborate - publish - new and changed assignments
selected to send only changed assignment
modified the message text
ok to send the mail

the e-mail has been received by the correct resource with
my modified text in as well as an attachment of mspj.mtm
but i cannot open it as the le type os not recognised.

In the project file i sent it from the task is showing
that my task request has not been a response to the
publish assignment message.

Can anyone please advise on what to do next??

PS do you know whether the e-mail collaboration will work
with lotus notes too??

Hi Kerry,

Have you run WGSetup.exe on the resource's computer?
That creates the necessary file type settings for the
*.mtm file. Try typing "email collaboration" [without
quotes] in the "Ask a question" box and read the topic
titled "Requirements for team communication using a MAPI-
based e-mail system".


I have not personally tried email collaboration with
Notes, but based upon some comments from clients - it did
not work happily.

I am having the same problem as Kerry and also have a
Lotus Notes environment except that no email every gets
through. Instead, I receive a PJSPOOL error which closes
the spooler service... I have , of course, installed the
WGSETUP as well as followed all directions on all
available MS documents. It still doesn't work.... any
ideas?
