Task change updated into project, but not been saved with the proj

I have a customer with following system

1. Project Server 2003 + SQL Server – SP2
2. Project Professional 2003 – SP2
3. Project web access

Here is the action

1. There is 4 numbers of .MPP file
2. One of them is used as a resource pool and also has its own task
3. All the other three are linked to the resource pool
4. There is NO master project that has links to other projects
5. All 4 projects are published to project server using all the four options
shown under Collaborate -> Publish.

6. Tasks are assigned, published and team members report time via PWA
7. When the admin goes to the PWA he sees the tasks but upon clicking on the
update button the update CORRECTLY happens in respective .mpp files. But in
the PWA view the updated tasks pertaining to the three .mpp files (the tasks
that belongs to the .MPP file used as a resource pool is updated and removed
from the PWA view.) is not removed. There is a flag shows the tool tip
message as “This task change has been successfully updated into project, but
has not been saved with the project fileâ€.

8. We have tried several time to save/log off and closing the .MPP files. No
luck!!

Please help

You're better off posting this in the Server ng but I think you will find
that your resource pool is messing project server up. Project Server has its
own Enterprise resource pool and won't like another pool clashing with it.
