Task Completion Dates in Past with 0% Complete

I have a project that was started some time ago.
Many tasks that were originally scheduled were never worked on and even
though they show 0% complete their expected completion times are in the past
because I have the project set to "start tasks as early as possible".

I want the project plan updated to show essentially the following "if I am
given full resources today what is estimated completion date".

I need it to recognize that I have entered status's as of a specific date
therefore, anything not complete as of the date statuses are updated is late
and adjust the schedule.

Is there any painless way to do this?

Hi Ronn,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Yes - you need to update the project to the status date. Full details are
given in my series on Microsoft Project in the TechTrax ezine, particularly
towards the end of #26 on Progressing, at this site:
http://tinyurl.com/2xbhc or this:
http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMFrame.asp?CMD=ArticleSearch&AUTH=23
(Perhaps you'd care to rate the article before leaving the site, :) Thanks.)

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
