Hello good pple forum, how can configure constraints within the tasks in my
projects in such a way that when a task is not meant to start on a particular
date a team member can not make updates to the task.

Thank you for quick response. Ok now i have disabled the self assigned team
task in project server 2007. However, in what business process would this be
useful.

Thank you

I would insert the publish field into the Gantt chart view , and only publish
tasks when they need updating.

Self-assign is useful where you have work that anyone on the team can do and
it makes more sense to allow people to "pick-up" the work as they can rather
than trying to schedule it prescriptively. Think maintenance tasks, small
changes in a software application or website, additions and moves on a phone
system, etc. Of course, each organization is going to classify work in its
own way.
