Task Delegation best practice?

Hi

I hope someone can give me some guidance here?

When I try and delegate a task as a resource i am told: There are no
resources available to delegate tasks.

I could go into the plan and add the person I want to take over the task in
the resource section and re-publish the task but am not sure this is the
correct action.

Any advice on the best method of doing this?

The list of names you see on the Delegation page in PWA is controlled by
your Project Server security settings. Since you are apparently the manager
of the project and use Microsoft Project Professional, I would recommend you
add the new person to the project and then replace yourself with that person
in the project, and then click Collaborate - Publish - All Information.
That would be the simplest process, I believe. Hope this helps.
