Task details are not published anymore to PWA (PS 2003)

Hi,
we are using PS 2003 since 3 years. Since a couple of days we are facing the
following issue:
Updates to existing project plans via PWA can be incorporated into the
project plan. However, after acceting the updates and publishing the project
plan the changes are not visible in PWA views, e.g. Assignment Details. Same
thing for new project plans the information is not published to the task view
level.

PS 2003 and SQL2000 are running on 1 server (S1).
Access to this server with PP 2003 is done via a Terminal Server (S2).
As we want to test PS 2007 we have installed PS 2007 on the S2 and are using
the SQL2000 on the S1. Could this be the reason?

Any help is appreciated as we can not extract needed information out of the
view tables anymore.

Hi rolfb,

Can you please restart your Views notification service. This will be
available in services on the server where you have installed Project Server
2003.
Let me know it this has fixed your problem.

Hi Gordon,

even restarting the server did not help.
I'm using now the psHealthMon program to check whats going on.
Weird things is that the ViewDrop folder is growing since last week - over
600 entries!

The Provider returned the following error:

Any idea what this is all about?

Please ignore my previous message. It's linked to the fact that the log file
could not be created.

I'm still having the problem that the ViewDrop directory is not processed,
but I don't get any errors in the event log.

Hi,

at least the ViewDrop folder is processed again.
The VWNOTIFY.EXE process got stuck, but I don't know why.
I'll monitor this in the future.

Hi Rolf,

did you say that the view drop folder is empty now? if so did the task
update now in PWA as well? if so that would explain why it wasnt updated
earlier. Let me know if the issue still occurs.

Hi Marc,

I cleared the folder manually and now all nnew requests are processed again.
Unfortunately, for some projects the assignment details are not updated in
PWA.

Hi Marc,

today the VWNOTIFY.EXE hung up again. After deleting the first entry in the
VIEWDROP folder , moving the other entries into a tmp folder, restarting
VWNOTIFY, and moving the entries back to the VIEWDROP folder the VIEWDROP
was processed again as expected. Any idea?
