task duration = 15 min

Hi,

Active in the meeting industry, I am confronted with
projects that are very intense over a few days.

Intense is , that I need to make tasks duration of only 15
min. This is possible but inserting a task with minutes as
a nessecary duration is not easy/

MS projects (at least in its stantards settings) is not
flexible for this.

Does anybody use MS project for this purpose (tasks with
minutes as duration)?

Is the user interface extentable with minutes as timeline?

any help is welcome

1. Tools | Options | View-tab and choose a "Date format" option that
includes the time.

2. On the Gantt chart double-click on the timescale at the top. It is
tempting to put "minutes" (or even "hours" as the bottom level display. I
wouldn't do that. I would make the bottom level display days and the
mid-level weeks (or months). Then I would ...

3. On the grid side, insert the column "Text1" and give it the formula
"[start]" (no quotes, of course)

4. Format | Bar styles ... and click on the "task" bar (it's probably the
first one in the list). Then click on the Text tab in the lower portion
of the display. Choose where you want the data displayed and choose the
field "text1". If you aren't happy with the full display then a formula
like this may help: mid([Start],instr([Start],":")-2)

Hello John,

The formula Mid([Start],instr([Start],":")-2) is interesting, but I think
there is an easier way to display time on the Gantt Chart :
Format / Bar Styles... / Text / Left : Start
Format / Layout / Date Format : 12:33
