It would be very helpful to be able to group a series of sub-tasks together
that are required to complete one overall task/project (I will call it an
ubertask.) I know that tasks can be grouped by the categories, but I need
something that will allow me to do this with repeatedly, sometimes within a
category, and then move on. There are only so many categories.
For example: I am a student and use the categories for different classes and
a couple of select activites, one of which is the Student Bar Association,
SBA. So, within a category like the SBA, I have a project, here I need to
pass a resolution, that I need to do several things for in order to prepare
to present the idea at a meeting. That might include a couple of different
tasks of sending email to people in order to gain information. There might
also be a phone call or two, and then a book to research for some background
information. I would like to be able to group all of these various tasks
under one ubertask "Resolution," which in turn would be within the category
of the SBA. OR, maybe for a class like Civil Procedure, I could set up an
ubertask for "Week 1 Assignment." (A weeks' assignment usually takes 6 - 10
hours.) Then be able to break it down into more manageable pieces like
"(chapter 1) reading,"(chapter 1) questions," & "(chapter 1) outline."
Currently I would have to continually rewrite the 'chapter 1' in order to
keep things grouped & then fill out all the peripheral data (start & due
dates, category, etc). This peripheral nfo could be automatically carried
over from an ubertask and would only require minor alterations to be
finished. As it is I have stopped using the task function b/c it is too time
consuming. Something like this would greatly increase the utility to anyone
who needs to break a larger task down into separate components.
I look forward to any feedback that anyone might have to offer. Thank you.
