Task ID Column Missing

(MSP '07 SP2) I made a custom table and added all the columns I wanted. When
I applied the table the left most column, the task id is what I thought it
was called, is missing. Meaning, I can't select the entire task by clicking
the number in the left column. Is there a way to get it back? I tried
inserting some new columns like ID or unique ID but nothing is working.
