Task level Custom Fields

I am creating a PP using EPM. I have defined 3 task level custom fields.
When I open the Task Information screen and go to the Custom Field tab I get
every custom field available i.e. Cost 1 through Cost 9, Flag through Flag
20.
Why? I, nor any of the other PMs created them.
How do I get rid of them?
Is this a switch, a bug or operator error?

Those custom fields are built in. Microsoft created them. You can not delete
them. This is by design.
