Task list in calendar view

Mike VanHorn

When viewing the Calendar in Entourage 2004, how is the task list ordered?
It doesn't seem to be ordered by priority. Is there a way to make it ordered
by priority?

Thanks!

It is ordered by date, with the most recent tasks at the top of the list. As
far as I know, you cannot sort them by priority, as the view given in the
Calendar section is *really* basic. You'd better switch over to the Task
section, which is only a click away, to have all the functionality that
comes with it. Alternatively, if you don't want to constantly switch between
those different views in one single window, you should open a new main
window in order to have two windows at the same time, and keep one for the
calendar and the other for the tasks. Not pretty, I know, but usable.

As Michel said.

You might want to look at my shareware "Entourage Today" add-on, from

MacScripter.net <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>

It puts calendar events and tasks for the next 1-to-7 days (your choice)
into a single window. You can sort the tasks by priority and even sub-sort
within that by either due date or name.

So, then, is there a known bug in this, because that is most definitely not
the situation on my machine. I have tasks created on different dates all
over the list, I have brand new tasks that come up in the middle of the
list, while there are newer and older tasks both above and below them.

Try Compacting your database. (Hold down Option key ay launch and choose
Compact). And if that doesn't help, Rebuild your database.

No, that didn't help. I still have tasks all over the place.
Note that this is only in the tasks pane in the Calendar view; the tasks are
fine if I actually go to Tasks.
