Task list in mail area

I've looked everywhere in Outlook, even looked in the Help files, and I
don't think this is possible by normal means. It should be easy to do. All
I'd like to do is use the TaskPan, which can be used in the Calendar View,
to use it also in my Mail View. In other words, when I'm looking at my
e-mail inbox, I'd like to see my Tasks just to the right of it. The reason
is for this is that I'm using Outlook for personal uses and I'd like to have
my To Do list and a list of things to buy, and a small calendar, where I'll
see them constantly, which is next to the inbox..

Anyway, this should be easy to do because there's the TaskPan command which
is normally used in Calendar View. I'd like to have this TaskPan command
also available while I'm looking at my inbox.. But the TaskPan command is
only visible if you have your Calendar opened. If the Calendar is not open,
the TaskPan command disappears; it even disappears in the Customize box. I
suppose it does that to prevent clutter, but I don't understand why I can't
access the commands in the Customize box.

I do believe it is possible to somehow do what I'm trying to do here, but
I'm thinking it take some kind of addin to do it. I know Outlook is a very
sophisticated program that does a lot of stuff, but it's interesting the
small things that it can't do.
