Task not Showing up in My Tasks but do recieve email of task assig

I have one particular project that is acting indifferent when resources are
assigned tasks. After publishing the user recieves the email that a new task
is assigned but the task does not show up in the My tasks section nor does it
pass to his Oulook Tasks. This is happening with more than one
resource/prerson on this project, however, the same PM on another project can
successfully assign this same user a task in another project and the task
shows up in the my task section. Any Ideas??

Verify first who the "Assignment Owner" is of the troublesome project tasks?
Could be they are assigned to someone else (like the PM) if the resource's
"Default Assignment Owner" is not set on their account.

This will make the assignments appear under the PMs My Tasks page instead of
the correct resources.

If this is the case, to fix it simply change the assignment owner on the
tasks to the right person by copying and pasting the resource name column to
the default assignment owner column in the task usage or resource usage
view.

I have a similar issue. I have a proejct where several tasks are assigned to
a resource, emails get sent, but the resource does not see the task on their
my task page. The task DOES however, show up on their timesheet. Assignment
owner is correct, we have tried publishing and republishing to no avail. we
are using Project 2007 both server and Professional. this happened before
the august hotfix and continues after this install (this weekend). Any
help???? PLEASE
