Task occurring on the same day each week

Does anyone know how to have a task occur on the same day each week? I know
I can define it as a recurring task but I want to leave my project plan as a
top down plan versus a recurring task.

This task involves updating status documents every Thursday with a status
call to the client on Friday. I have the status call always occurring 1 day
following the update of the status documents.

I was hoping there was a way of defining the Thursday as being EOW (end of
week) minus 1 day.

Hello Bob,
Have you tried to create a Calendar with Thursday as the only working day in
the week, and apply this calendar to that task ?
Tools / Change Working Time / New....
In the Advanced tab of the Task Information dialog, there is a Calendar drop
down list.

What do you mean by a "top down plan" and how does that contrast with,
contradict, or preclude having a recurring task???? I'm familiar with the
concepts behind top-down estimating and top-down budgeting but the term
"top-down plan" is a new one on me. How is that different from a standard
project WBS that starts with the project's major deliverables and breaks
them down further and further until you get to the detailed description of
all the various pieces of work that create said deliverables?
