Task Pane Customization. Based on Data from datasource

I would like to use the task pane as the menu of my forms application.
The task pane will supply the user a full cycle of all tasks on the form and
within the form. For example: manage contracts, (within contracts) add new,
(nside new) load available contract details types like general, economical
etc (something like tab control would do).
The idea is that all control of work flow will be done via the task pane.
I would like to build a task pane similary to the infopath one.
Examples, introductions etc all what can help wil be epriciated.
