task pane

Is there a way you can get rid of the task pane altogether? I know that when
you copy several items without pasting in between that the Clipboard task
pane appears automatically, however, on my colleague's PC, this doesn't
happen. The task pane only appears when you physically ask it to.

I know if you go into Tools, Options and View, you can remove the tick from
Show task pane at Startup but does this just remove it from start up, or
remove it altogether unless you physicaly ask for it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

On the Office Clipboard Task Pane there is a button at the bottom, captioned
"Options".
Click this and you'll see, amongst others, "Collect without showing
clipboard".

If the clipboard is not showing automatically you can always get it
explicitly via Edit > Office Clipboard or View > Task Pane
