Task Reminder pops way too soon Help!

Does anyone know the limitations of the REMINDER setting for a Task? My boss has a task created for a Driver's LIcense renewal notice that is set to happen again on June 1, 2007. The reminder is set to alert him on June 1, 2007 at 8am. Problem is that the reminder just went off today June 1, 2004. The only thing i can find that may have something to do with it is the Recurrence settings are set for Yearly on June 1. Perhaps this is causing the reminder to alert yearly regardless of the reminder date we have set. Also, the Due date and Start dates are also June 1, 2007

Could try setting the reminder for the day before. THen he could snooze it for 24 hours...
