Task Reminders for Deleted Tasks/Resources

I'm a project manager who has set up alerts for my resources' tasks that are
overdue and/or incomplete. I have several cases where my email alerts list
tasks that have long ago been completed or deleted and marks them "overdue
and incomplete". This is in error and my Project files corresponding to these
tasks do show the tasks as being completed. In addition, there are tasks that
have been assigned to resources that have been deleted and cleaned up from
the server which continue to be marked as incomplete and overdue in my email
alerts. What's going on here? Is it possible that the status of tasks are not
being accurately mapped between Project Server and SQL Server which I presume
houses the information for the email alerts?

I'm not if this is the "approved" answer, but I have had the same problem.
To fix is, I've set up SQL queries to hunt down these task from the
MSP_WEB_ASSIGNMENTS table and then I zap them.

These appear to be orphaned records. The seem to occur when I was dumb
enough to add sub tasks to an existing task (making it a summary). What
happens is that the existing task (with resource X) is now made a summary
task, and the resource "disappears". No record is sent to the SQL server
removing the resource from the task and so it just hangs around ready to
appear on the incomplete task lists.

I've not tested this on SP2, but I suspect that this as been fixed, as I
only see this with old projects (or I've learnt to set up my projects
better).

I'm not sure if you can do much damage deleting WEB_ASSIGNMENTS tasks as
these should be recreated if you republish the whole project - though I've
never tried this. The only caveat is watch out of users to-do lists. I'vbe
accidently deleted these off the SQL server in the past.
