Task Renumbering Problem in 2007

I have just encountered a problem that cost me a day of work. In MSP 2007, I
saved my schedule as MSP 2003, and tasks were arbitrarily re-numbered, task
names were deleted, and even resource names were wiped out. I found a string
of posts from last September documenting a similar problem and suggesting
solutions, none of which worked. I'm rebuilding the schedule. Does anyone
know if Microsoft has patched this bug?

Hi Rob,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Have you installed the latest service packs for both programs? Project 3003
SP3 and Project 2007 SP1.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Thank you for the quick reply, Mike. I was not aware of the latest service
packs. Now that I know, I'll apply the updates. Thanks, again.

Did you ever solve this problem? I'm having the same issues with a number of
projects I'm running and it's making me look a complete idiot in front of
clients and my manager when I open a project and everything's been rearranged!

KInd regards

Peter

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately we suffered so many problems that we
reverted to using 2003 from 2007. This, while not being as user-friendly as
2007, has at least cured our problems!

Kind regards

Peter
