Task scheduling - reminder resets

I have created a recurring task, with a reminder that
should go off every weekday at 5:00pm. This works for the
first task, then every other task goes to the default
reminder setting of 8:00am. The only way that seems to
work is to reset the reminder when the task goes off at
8:00am - or defer it to later.

Is there a way to fix this without resetting the default
reminder for every other task?

There no way to fix the task that I know of, but there is
a way to set a task up in the first place that will do
what you want. Unless your system is overriding your
settings, you can set your specifics on the Recurrence
page, including what time of day the reminder is issued.
