task scheduling tracking

Hemant

I have Porject 2K and qould like to accomplish the following:

- one column showing the planned duration
- one column showing how many days have been spent on a particular task,
this will be entered daily
- one column showing how many days left to complete a task i.e. uration -
(days spent on a task)

What I envisage is the folloing scenario:

Task Name Planned duration Actual days spent # of days
left
task A 10 7
3
task B 5 25
-20(over ran by 20 days)

Is there a way of getting the MS Project to show these details?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Hemant,

The data you are looking for is already in project.

The "planned Duration" is Baseline Duration - created when you save a
baseline for the task.
How many days have been spent on the task is Actual Duration - supplied when
you track tasks.
How many days left to complete the task is Remaining Duration - calculated
by Project as Baseline Duration - Actual Duration.

The Actual and Remaining Duration fields are already in the Tracking table.
You could easily add the Baseline Duration field or create a custom table to
show just those fields of interest to you.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
