Task splitting

Hi All

I want to share and ask about task splitting. Resource is assigned for :
task B at August 6
But he enters the actual work at timesheet in August 3, Then he submits the
the timesheet, was approved by Timesheet Manager. He imports timeheet to task
and submit the task. The PM approves task update. The PM open the MS Project
Professional , the result, automatically, the task splitting because the
uncorrect filled

The resource recall the timesheet to repair the mistake, and update the
actual work in August 6, and delete the actual work at August 3, then he
submits the timesheet. The timesheet Manager approved timesheet. The resource
import timesheet to task and then submit task. PM approve task update. Th PM
open the Project Profesional but it's same like before. The task is still
split.

What can I do to repair the mistake?

Hi Dee,

the second time your PM opens the project, has the actual work moved to the
new updated ( 6th August) time within the project schedule, or is it still on
the 3rd August?

I would ask the resource to 0 our the 3rd of August and enter the time on the
6th August. That should do the trick

Dee:

The important thing to remember here is that recalling the timesheet does
not recall the update to the project. You either have to follow Marc's
procedure, which puts the responsibility on the resource, or have the
Project Manager retract the update in the plan itself.
