Task Update approval by more than one PM

Is it possible to give more than one project manager the ability to see and
approve updates to tasks from within PWA?

i.e. the actual PM is away for a few days but you want others to be able to
accept task updates and get them published.

No, this is not possible, at least the way you imagine it. At any point in
time, Project Server 2007 allows only one Status Manager per task in an
enterprise project. If the PM is going to be away and cannot process task
updates, the alternate PM must open the project and set him/herself as the
Status Manager for tasks in the project, and then publish the latest
changes. Hope this helps.
