Task update history

Is there anyway to see who changed what task and when it is changed sorted by
project and date as an administrator? I have tried all the possible options
and could not get it done.
Thanks in advance Gurus.

No, there is not any built-in audit trail of changes in Microsoft Project.
Sorry.

Hi Jack,
Is there any third party tool that you know which does the same?
Thanks

Hi Senbag,

the only transactional history regarding tasks is under "My Task" within PWA
07. When you drill into a task ( the task detail screen) you will be able to
see the history of a task, when it was approved, rejected, what has changed
etc.

What this transactional history does not record is changes that happened in
MS Project, which is what Jack mentioned.

I cannot think of a third party tool that keeps track of task changes within
MS Project, but this doesnt mean that it doesnt exisit :)
Hope this helps

Marc,
Thanks much for your detaled reply.
In the same token,
If we need to retreive those data from MS Project Server- Database, Which
Table I should retreive and analyse.
It is becoming big issue to convince the management that audit trails can be
tracked in MS Project Server.
I can connect to Database with Reporting services and create adhoc report
but didn't know which table has all those data.

All I am trying to do is collect which task related changes by the modifier
with timestamp.
I really appreciate your help and thanks in advance.

As Gary said, this is actually not held in the project server reporting db
and you would need to get this information from the published db. Project
Server at this stage does not accomodate for the extract of this information
hence the reason for the custom event handler
Hope this helps
