Task Updates are not sent to Propoer Plan Owner

I have noticed an issue with Project Server 2003 (SP1)
when updating tasks. There is a dialog that pops-up when
a team member submits task updates - this dialog notifies
that the updates will be sent to the "Original Project
Plan Owner". However I have changed the plan owner to
another resource (Project Manager), but only the resource
that originally published the plan is ever mentioned.

I thought that if you changed the "Plan Owner" of a
project plan (PWA > Projects > Edit), they then assume
all responsibilities for that project - especially the
accept/reject of task updates from team members.

Hope someone can shed some light on this matter.

Changing the manager of the project requires two distinct sets of steps.
The first step is to change the Owner field to the name of the new manager,
which you have done. The second set of steps requires the new manager to
open the project and do the following:

1. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
2. Select the "Become the manager of these assignments" option
3. Click OK

Doing this set of steps will cause Project Server to redirect all future
task updates to the correct manager. Hope this helps.
