Task Work and resource assignment

Hi everybody,

I've created a task programmaticaly and set its Work to be 50hrs as well
as explicitly set its Start and Finish dates. I now create actuals
against the task for discreet time periods(5h 1day, 7h another etc.), I
now see that they cause the tasks Work to be equal to the sum of those
actuals and equaly the Start and Finish to reflect those actuals. Is
there anyway to not have it do this... to leave the Work allocation for
the task alone?

thanks,

John

Firstly save a baseline. This preserves the original work and dates. If the
tasks starts on the 15th and you enter actual work for the 14th, the task
will always be made to start on the 14th, how can it not be?

For any time period, work must always = actual work. Use baseline work to
compare original value.
