Tasks appear in scrambled order in PWA

In PWA, the tasks are displayed in a totally random order. i.e the tasks are
not listed as Task ID 1 , task ID 2, task ID 3. but when I go in MS Project
2003 and open the project plan everything appears fine.

Any idea why that happens?

The view you're using is sorted on a different field. Try using a different view or just click the top of the ID column to sort it on the ID.

I had already tried doing that. Prior to posting the question I had clicked
on it repeatedly but in vain.

Is there anything else you can think of?
