Tasks does not move

Using 2003. I have a task in one project attached FS to a task in
another project inside a Master Project

Master Project
Task A (milestone)

SubProjct x
Task xa (milestone)

Thus xa is a predecessor to task A. Problem is, task A does not move
to reflect date of xa

anybody know why?
