Tasks failing to import from Timesheet - Server 2007

I have some resources who cannot seem to successfully import some of their
timesheets into their tasksheets. One timesheet will import successfully,
then the next one won't. They receive a timeout error and are returned to the
Import Timesheet screen. The result it, of course, our project plans do not
update with the time resources have entered on their timesheets.
We are using Project server 2007 but have not applied SP1 yet.
I have looked at dozens of their timesheets and cannot find a common thread
on why this would occur. Anyone else seen this and found a way to correct
it?

Clara,

We are running MSPS 2007 SP1 and are experiencing the same challenge you
face Clara. I just walked someone thru 2 months of timesheet entry. Then,
methodically went to My Tasks page and imported each timesheet. 3 out of 8
did not import. No rhyme or reason (at least I'm clueless). Hopefully,
someone will help us both out here!
thanks in advance!

A possible reason - Import timesheet data fails if a task has been
deleted since the timesheet was created. The My task page reflects
the deletion (assuming the plan was published) but My timesheet still
retains the deleted task (if already created), therefore user can
enter time but there is no task item to receive it and import fails.
