tasks in calendar

You can show the TaskPad in Month view by dragging from the right side of
the window, but depending on your version of Outlook, the change may not
"stick" if you move out of the Calendar (or to a different view) and then
back to Month view. In Outlook 2003, the TaskPad seems to stick in all of
the Day/Week/Work Week/Month configurations. You can put a button for the
TaskPad on one of your toolbars if you don't don't feel like dragging from
the right side of the window every time.

I've just installed Office 2003 and don't understand what you're describing here. I'd like to show my current tasks in the calendar window (like I could in previous versions of Outlook). But I don't understand what you're saying about "dragging from the right side of the window." Dragging what? which window? Why is this such an unexpected question? Don't people like to see (and be able to edit easily) their calendars and to do lists all at once? The Outlook Today window doesn't really work for this because editing it is not quick or easy

Thanks for any more detail. I'm glad it sounds like Outlook 2003 supports what I liked in earlier versions (unlike the decision to remove the Office Shortcut Bar from this release)

Success! Between what you mentioned here (dragging from the right) and what was listed in another forum (dragging from the right after the double-arrow cursor appears), I figured out that the Task Pad and monthly calendars are just hiding (shy little things) at the edge of the Calendar window. So, by dragging the edge of the Calendar (not the edge of the Outook window) to the left, the Task Pad and monthly calendars appeared. Next I turned off the Navigation Pane, and my calendar window is usable again. Thanks for the hint!

But, just curious why this functionality isn't documented anywhere in the Outlook online help? Is there any more comprehensive documentation? I'm a technical writer and am really disappointed at how poorly MS products are documented -- how would the average person ever figure out how to use even a fraction of the functionality? Don't know if anyone at MS listens to these comments, but if so, please hear the plea of a longtime user.

Thanks,

susan

You might send your suggestions to (e-mail address removed), and put Outlook in
the subject line. Microsoft does listen to comments and wishes sent there.

Just a note here - you can also get this view to show by using the View Menu
and select Taskpad.
