Tasks Not Showing Calendar View - Overflow Tasks

J

Jimmy

I have just put in some new tasks to my project schedule
and they are not showing in the calendar view with the
other tasks. I do have certain task hidden but not the
ones I am trying to show. I do get a weird printout when
I print the calendar view that shows a page with a list
of "Overflow Tasks" and in that list are the ones I am
trying to show. There is not mention of "Overflow Tasks"
anywhere in the Help. What are these overflow tasks and
why are they not showing in the calendar view?

Thanks,
Jimmy

Hi Jimmy,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

The tasks are hidden because there is not enough space in the Calendar view
to show all of them. Move the cursor vertically across the boundary between
the weeks until it turns into an up/down arrow, click and drag downwards to
increase the space.

Well I have tried that before and tried it again. I
expanded it all the way to bottom of the page and they
still do not show up. There are no other activities
listed on this day so there should be room for this one.
The whole day on the calendar is blank and couple days on
the calendar before it is full of activities.

Thanks,
Jimmy

Hi Jimmy,

OK, we're into diagnosis phase! Try it with a new project. Try it on a
different PC. Is it this particular project or the installation of Project?
Experiment a bit and post back.

I also had the same problem, I found that you needed to make the size of the days excessively large (in height) in order to make it display them in the print preview and not list them as overflow tasks.

Hi ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Move your cursor to the boundary between the weeks until an up/down arrow
appears, then click and drag downwards to give Project more space in which
to show the overflow tasks.
