Tasks Removed from Time Sheets

Other than the "Hide Task" process, does any other reason exist that would
cause a task to be removed from a resource's time sheet. The task
previously existed on the time sheet - but is no longer present. This has
happened to multiple users.

Hi Randy,

If the user selected "Current tasks" in his/her timesheet page, the
completed tasks are not displayed any longer.

Thanks Gérard - So if Current Tasks is selected and they select "All Tasks"
will the completed tasks reappear?

I am not sure it has anything to do with if the task is complete or not. It
has more to do with the date range of the task. If the start or end date is
more than a certain number of days from the current date, the task will no
display regardless of if it is complete or not.

I should clarify my previous comment. Completed task are affected by this,
but in addition, it also takes into consideration if the start date (not end
date) is within a certain date range specified by the admin.

Hi every body,

Although Randy gave his answers but for answer his main question:"any other
reason exist that would cause a task to be removed from a resource's time
sheet" I can say to clear a project data from project server data base also
can cause a task/tasks remove from a resource's time sheet.

Hello,

I have been having a funny thing happen that I was wondering if anyone else
had experienced. I have resources that have filled out timesheets and when
they return to them several tasks have disappeared. When I check it out in
View Resources; in some instances they have also disappeared and in others
they have not. I often export timesheets fro analysis so i was able to check
this out.

It is causing quite an issue simce folks don't believe the tool can be
trusted to track actuals. Help?!?

RKT -

Tasks are removed from timesheets when (1) they are completed and/or (2)
they are no longer defined as "current tasks". Each installtion gives you
the opportunity to define the time frame of a "current task" (ours is 14
days).

If tasks are "disappearing" from a resrouces time sheets - it is because of
one of these two issues. If the task dissapeared and has not yet been
completed, then have the user select "All Tasks" (instead of "Current
Tasks") in their PWA time sheet. If they have been completed, there are a
number of other ways to go back and look at the time spent on each tasks.

Exports should not be built directly from timesheets - rather from views
that use the column "Actual Work Protected".
