Tasks Showing Critical But Not In Path

I am working on a project that has two strings of tasks, both strings
are connected at a start task and an end task. Project shows one of the
strings as the critical path and all tasks are red, but it also shows
some tasks in the other string as red also. There are no inter
dependancies at this time. All resource calendars are the same set at
24 hours. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

It sounds like some calculations are based on constraints in the second
string. Open a column for Constraints and set them all to As Soon As
Possible. Is the critical path now shown correctly? If it is, set Deadline
Dates for those constrained tasks instead.
