Help! Has anyone had problems where the project server
appears to be out of kilter with a project schedule even
though the project schedule is sync'd? Did you work out
what caused it / how to avoid it again?
I was acusing some engineers of not updating their tasks
(their timesheets showed hardly any actual work). They
insisted they'd been making updates. When I checked the
project schedule sure enough there was all of their actual
work sync'd up to their actual work protected. However
none of their hours were appearing on their timesheets. I
logged in as them and checked their tasks. Tasks were
shown as 100% complete, but no actual work was shown even
though it showed scheduled work.
The way round it was I entered all of their work again.
The work and actual work in the tasks view all got
doubled, but when I accepted the updates the schedules it
just showed the work and actual work as I expected (I'd
been orried it might have got out of sync). At least the
schedule is correct now and I can see their actual work in
the timesheets, even though in their tasks view the work
etc. is all wrong.
Is this a bug? Was it something we did? How on earth
could the schedules and project server get so out of
kilter? Any help or advice gratefully received.
