We're using MS Project Server temporarily until we bring in another
product that is bit more comprehensive. In the meantime though I want
to give folks the opportunity to view projects and assignments online.
We will NOT be using timesheets at all. I thought for team members it
would easier for them to just click on "Tasks" at the top. In
conjunction with that, I removed all editable fields from the timesheet
view so that they basically cannot submit timesheets. Unfortunately
they can still reject a task.
However, I disabled the PM timesheet approvals so perhaps the fact that
team members can click on "Reject" task doesn't matter. Is this true?
I guess I'm struggling with keeping this as it is or scrapping the
timesheet and giving the team members access to the Resource Assignment
View. Downside is they go through an extra step of adding themselves
to the list and hitting the apply button to see their tasks. The other
downside is that they can't hide the deleted tasks.
Any opinions or ideas about this concerning which is the better way to
go?
Thanks,
Andy
