Hello. I am trying to set up a new computer, I need to
add an IP address so I can join a domain. everytime I try
to add the IP address, I get an error,"a duplicate name
exist on the network." I am sure I am not using the same
IP address. is there any way out of this... thank you in
advance

You'd be better served in one of the Windows networking newsgroups. This
group is for MS-Access the database product.

I can tell you however, that Windows networks do not allow 2 machines with
the same name to exist on a network. As an example, I have 1 machine which
has 3 different bootable partitions. I must use 3 different names for that
machine even though they all have the same IP address.
