Setup: windows xp pro upgrade to windows98SE
Outlook 2000 or eudora 6.1
Problem: Either Outlook 2000 or Eudora 6.1 will generate
an error when getting e-mail, but not all the time - in
fact, infrequently. The major symptom is that the
program hangs when trying to retrieve e-mail from ISP
provider, and will eventually time out and unfreeze.
The error message is 0x800xcc19 in Outlook 2000, or 10100
in Eudora 6.1. I could not find any references to those
numbers.
It appears that it might be some kind of TCP/IP error
(since it impacts mail programs from 2 different
suppliers). When it occurs I will find that upon
downloading (using another computer) there is at least
one file with no subject and/or sender name. Either
Outlook or Eudora will work fine about 90% of the time,
then hang and continue to hang (even if rebooted) until
mail retrieval times out.
