team member access to project professional

Is it possible to give Team Member access to connect to the Project server
through Project Pro?

I added the categories, selected Open and Save Project. That seemed to work
for about a 1/2 day, now if they have Team Member access, with Open and Save
Project chosen, they cannot get into Project Pro and connect to the server.

I have to keep theses users at the Team Member level so they cannot see or
edit anyone else's tasks, but they need to be able to use Project Pro.

Unless, is it possible to open a new project in PWA? I have yet to figure
out how.

Thank you in advance!

If you need to give team members permission to open projects in Microsoft
Project, then I would recommend you do one of the following:

1. Set the permissions in the Global Permissions data grid in the Team
Members group using the Project Managers security template
2. Add those respective team members to the Project Managers group

Hope this helps.

If I set the Team Member template to be the same as Proj Mgrs, is there a
setting I can uncheck that would only allow them to view their tasks and no
one elses?

With Proj Mgrs, they are able to see everyone's tasks, I don't want Team
Members to see any tasks but their own.

Thank you!

If you mean that they can only see their own tasks in Microsoft Project
Professional, then no, there is no way to accomplish this. If a person has
permission to open a project, he/she can see every task in the project.
What in the world are you trying to accomplish anyway with letting Team
Members use Microsoft Project? Let us know.

The users are more comfortable with working in Professional instead of PWA.

Thank you

Have you tried adding the Outlook addin feature? They might be more
comfortable working in Outlook and updating their tasks through Outlook.
