Team Member unable to update rejected task proposal

Project 2007: After a team member's task change request is rejected, the task
is not updated on PWA. Although the team member can see the rejection, the
task does not revert to its previous state. What am I doing wrong?

What type of update got rejected? A progress update that contained "dirty
data?" A new task update that proposes a new task? If it is the former,
the team member needs to clean up the data and resubmit the progress update.
If it is the later, the team member should delete the proposed and rejected
task. Hope this helps.
