teamstatus reports being blocked by outlook

Hi,
I'm a help desk tech, and I'm kind of new to project. Our problem is,
when users in the workgroup try to send a teamstatus report back to the
supervisor, one of two things are happening. Either the .tmp
attachment will not open so that they can fill out the report, or the
..tmp attachment gets blocked by outlook 2003. Shouldn't the attachment
that gets created be a .mtm or something else file, and not a .tmp? Is
there a workaround on this?
