Technical Release upgrade for Office 2003 Beta 2

N

Nathan Perkins

I hate to post this again, but I am getting kinda
desperate. Does anyone from Microsoft care enough about
us to read these forums?

Because of a crash report, I was directed to download the
new technical release for office beta 2. I did so, but it
said it failed to install. Then, when I tried opening any
office tool (Word, Outlook) it would say I did not have a
valid product key. I tried entering the one that came
with my beta pack and it said it was an invalid key...Now
I can't access my e-mail or anything.

If anyone can help, that would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Nathan

Hi Nathan,

Are you using the multi disk Office 2000 Beta 2
package from http://microsoft.com/office/preview?

If so, was it installed with the single user key or
from an Office Admin Point using the Enterprise
Bypass key in the Getting Started booklet?

If it was an Office 2000 beta 2 'trial' copy CD then
the refresh won't work with it.

FWIW, the MS newsgroups are generally peer support.
There isn't any official MS support for the free
(plus shipping) Office 2003 Public Beta products.

I installed the multi disk Office 2003 beta 2 package
simply usiong the CD codes in the CD booklet, not in the
getting started booklet.
