Telephone audio thru mic and speakers

How can I use the built-in speakers and mic to talk and
listen, when I use the dial feature in Contacts to make a
phone call in Outlook? The old Multimedia in the control
panel used to have modem line as a selection. I'm now
using Office XP and there's no such chioce.
