being provided via your telephone
line, then you have a special dsl splitter that
enables you to use the regular telephone
that is piggy backing on the dsl signal.
the regular phone modem can be connected to
the regular telephone side and can dial phone
numbers for you. However you will need to reroute
the line going to the phone and plug it into the input
plug on the modem. Then you can plug
your phone into the the modem.where it says
output or has a little picture of a phone insribe.
Thank You for your reply I have both a modem and a DSL modem. I would prefer to use the DSL but I checked the modem I don't see an option to turn on or off.

if the modem is not used

a telephone speaker from radio shack...
How can I connect the computer speaker to telephone dialer so that if I call
a number that has a live program I would be able to in on my computer
speaker?
