Could the user's temp folder cause word to hang up or
crash while working on some documents. I've noticed that
dumping the temp folder in the user's profile often helps
keep word from "freezing up".

Hi Dale,

Yes, a temp folder that's loaded with abandoned temp files can cause
freezes, crashes, and other strange behavior. Every time Word
terminates abnormally, it leaves more of these files behind and makes
the problem worse.
