Template and autotext

Hi,

I have a question in regards to template and autotext. I created a template
that would generate a standard report document by using autotexts. I have a
customised menu in the toolbar that show in the dropdown list all the
autotexts so the user can click on the one he/she wants to be included in the
document. I created this template on my local laptop and it works fine.

The problem is i like this template to be accessed or open by anyone in the
office to use. So i put a copy of the template onto the Server so that
everyone on the network can access it. I got an error saying "the autotext is
not specified. please insert the autotext ..."

How do i get around this issue? any suggestions

Thank you in advance

You probably have the autotext in your normal.dot template. Use
Tools>Macro>Macros>Organizer to copy it from there into the template.

You should also see the article "Distributing macros to other users" at:

Hi Doug,

Yes, it's in every active template. Because when entering new autotexts, i
chose "All active templates" in the Look in option. Hence, I can see the
autotext in all active templates including Normal.dot. Have i done it wrong?

Thank you in advance

Just because you see it when you look in "All active templates" does not
mean that it is located in ALL of those templates. All that it means is
that it is in one of them.

Instead of looking in "All active templates", look in the one that you put
on the server and see what is in that - almost certainly no autotext.
