template askew; demon?

M

me

Everything worked for years ...now?

After merging; The original 2 page document; looks like
one long page with overlaping template borders and the
page break is wierd etc.

It still does it with all merge fields removed.

Help? This feels like a demon?

more info needed.

Word version?

Template borders? Must have some meaning to you, lost on me.

Manual page break in original? Try substituting page break before formatting
for the paragraph you want to begin your new page.

I am assuming mailmerge and not document merge.

I am using xp latest sp and updates and office 2003
I guess this may be called a document merge
I am using mail merge tool with excel fields to merge to
word doc.

I did not create original document , but it is some kinda
templated border line around the edge of the page that
goes askew after merging. Also afterwards the page break
is scrunched together in an abnormal way.

I also have a dual boot with win 2k;
I whent back to win2K and tried on word 2000;
Everything works perfect.

I just did an update that did nor install succesfully on
XP; maybe that is it.

I happened to click/select the table "position handle"
and now all works correctly; even when I do a fresh mail
merger.

Weird Bug/demon

Glad you worked it out.

For future reference, you are doing a mailmerge, not a document merge.
Apparently the border that was troubling you was a table border.
