Template does not exist

I have created a template that contains styles that I want
to use in a document.

When I go to Tools>>>>Templates and Add-Ins and try and
load the style template, an error message informs me that
it doesnt exist.

I use this way to do alot of work and never have any
problems.

Obviously I have set something wrong somewhere.

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks in advance

Hi Suzanne
Thanks for your help.

Well actually I normally do this programatically but it
didnt work even doing it manually.
Yes the template is there. Even deleting the template from
the "template and add-on" list then adding it again, still
shows "Template does not exist"

Hope this clarifys things.

Thanks for your continued help

Hi adrian -

This is a very confusing error message which once had me going round in
circles. IIRC it doesn't relate to what you are doing in the *bottom* half
of the dialog, but to the attached template name showing in the dropdown at
the *top*.

Note however that if you need the styles from a template you don't use the
list of addin templates anyway - you need to change the attached template in
the dropdown, and check the 'update styles' box. Then come back and uncheck
it again so as not to leave it checked. (But ActiveDocument.UpdateStyles in
the immediate window is quicker.)
