Template Drop Down Menu in Standard Toolbar in Word

At my previous employer MS word was set up with a customized template drop
down option in the standard toolbar. This drop down contained a link to the
company letterhead, fax cover sheets, etc. The drop down menu was in the
standard toolbar to the right of help. How do I create a drop down like this
and link it to templates I've created?

The simplest solution is to replace the FileNew command on the standard
toolbar or file menu with the FileNewDialog command. see how to add toolbar
